Ain't that the cutest, most perfect little tail you've ever seen?
Yep, we own a rabbit. A silver fox rabbit, I might add. It is a rare breed, on the animal association something's critically endangered list.
And this isn't some tiny, pet store half-breed. She's got a pedigree to make any genealogist jealous. Her weird, purebred name is 'Raison D'Etre', meaning 'The Reason to Be'. We're calling her 'Cosette', meaning 'people of victory'. Ok, that meaning has no meaning to us, Eliza picked it out. We just wanted something french to go with her 'real name'. Cosette is full grown, I'd guesstimate she's close to 5 pounds. This breed of rabbit was originally raised for their fur and meat. This fluffy, soft, black puddle of a bunny is so irresistible! I checked some books out from the library on the subject of rabbits, or lagomorph leporidae (cuckoo!). The silver fox rabbit is the best 'companion' rabbit and the gentlest of the rabbit family. They are wonderful with children and have poop the size of M&Ms. My kind of pet! Cosette will not be coming with us to Bahrain, so if anyone is interested . . . though until August, she's ours!
